4 Hacks to go from #Overwhelmed to #BossBabe

I bet getting your own needs met feels like a far-fetched dream.

Am I right?

You have the kids.

Your spouse or partner.

Pets.

Between homework, date night, sports, and running around like a crazy person just to keep the house tidy…

...how could you possibly catch a breath and think about yourself? 🤯

That’s the thing though.

You need to remember you’ll never reach your dream destination if you’re driving on EMPTY.

If you’re too busy supporting everyone – and pretending we’re superhuman – there’s not going to be any energy left for you.

So, here’s your wake up call:

You’re not going to reach your biz goals by being selfless.

Trust me.

Your needs are important, too. Actually, they’re more important than anyone else’s. BOOM. 🎤🤏

Give yourself permission to be selfish.

Be a #BossBabe.

You with me?

If you’re not familiar with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs...

… well you NEED to be.

This is a theory that Abraham Maslow came up with back in the 1940’s.

It’s laid out like the food pyramid, but I like to think of it more as a ladder or a staircase.

  • The bottom tier is essential.
  • The middle covers all the cozy basics.
  • Then as you move up the ladder you reach the pinnacle: Self-actualization.

Self-actualization is where success lives.

That’s where flow happens.

Things are insync.

You’re able to focus and your life has a clear direction. 📈

If you look at Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, what’s the first thing you’re missing?

For many people it’s there in the middle: personal security, employment, or a sense of connection.

That’s pretty far from where you want to be, right?

Notice how the top tier doesn’t have a list.

That’s because it’s a transcendent space. 🙏🏻

It’s the point in your life when your inner drive is FULLY activated.

You’re at peace, secure, and pumped to reach your full potential.

Once you have all your other needs met, you’re free to focus on who you’re supposed to be.

We all WANT to make it to that self-actualization level.

Because that’s where the good stuff happens, my friend.

I’m talking about those sweet peak experiences.

That’s another term I got from our buddy, Maslow.

A peak experience will look and feel different for everyone.

But they all have a few things in common.

Peak experiences are...

#1 Significant.

As in, they bring awareness of self… and are potential turning points in life.

#2 Fulfilling.

You feel like you got a reward and have positive emotions.

#3 Spiritual.

You feel at one with the world and often lose your sense of time.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Things where you PUSH yourself very very often give you that feeling.

So I’m wondering... how often are you on the cusp of this kind of experience?

Because those types of experiences help you in many ways.

Peak experiences make you:
  • More playful. 🤸‍♀️
  • More self-sufficient. 💪
  • More alive. 🌞
  • More creative. ✍️

Peak experiences help you show up.

They motivate you.

And the best part? They’ll give you the energy to motivate others around you.

Don’t you want to be an inspiration to the people that depend on you?

Yep! Who doesn’t?

I know it can be scary… the idea of breaking out on your own.

Trying something new.

Getting out of your comfort zone.

Worrying about if it will work out, but that’s why I’m here!

4 Hacks that Put You on the Path to Self-actualization.

Hack #1: Breathe.

Never underestimate the power of a deep breath.

Literally everything gets easier when you breathe through it.

So notice the quality of your breath when you’re in challenging situations… and bring awareness to it.

Trust me, you’ll totally feel the difference.

Hack #2: Look after your health.

Are you living a healthy life?

Are you eating right and sleeping enough?

Getting proper exercise for those sweet, sweet endorphins?

Be honest with yourself…

Remember the bottom level Maslow’s hierarchy of needs? You can't self-actualize when you feel like crap. 💩 You gotta take care of yourself to reach your full potential.

Period.

Hack #3: Prioritize Self-Care.

Find something that helps you relax at the end of your day.

  • Cozy up with a self-help book.
  • Zone out with a refreshing face mask after your skincare routine.
  • Find a quiet space in the house to create, write, or listen to music.

Anything that helps you feel indulgent. Remember to spoil yourself – you deserve it.

Like your wellness, you have to make sure you’re getting everything you need.

Breakthroughs happen when you’re not wound up tight like a top.

Hack #4: Build Community.

Find your tribe.

This is a must.

I can’t tell you how important it is to connect with others authentically.

Think about what happens when you hang out with people you really connect with.

Ones that bring out your best and highest self. 🙌

Those who only want good things for you. Who GET you.

It’s so powerful when you find a group of likeminded people… with shared intention… and you can work on goals – TOGETHER.

If that sounds right up your alley, I’d love for you to check out my Habit Hackers community.

What I see inside the group is that COMMUNITY is the transformational secret sauce for all the massive wins going on in there.

If you want to become your very best self… surround yourself with others and work together to find those peak moments.

I hope you check it out… You won’t regret it.
