My First All-Nighter: How I Chose Both Dreams + Commitments

Hey, my friends! I’m Hayley Hobson and I’m so glad you’re here! Welcome to the 10/10 Podcast where I help ambitious women, like you, look + feel younger, so you can achieve a 10/10 lifestyle (and unlock financial freedom).

Have you ever had that “caught between a rock and a hard place” feeling?

Like, you have two things you REALLLLLLY wanna do – or have committed to do – and it feels as if you MUST choose one or the other?

Well, I actually used to feel this way A LOT.

And over the last few years, I’ve decided this doesn’t need to be my mindset or approach anymore.

Instead, I have embraced the “Both/And” mentality.

In fact, I actually dropped a whole podcast episode about this earlier this summer – definitely check it out if you’re curious about it.

Now I will admit…

This “both/and” mindset is simple… but it isn’t always easy.

Most of the time it means you get to slip into some REAALLLLLY creative thinking.

Look for innovative – sometimes seemingly crazy LOL – solutions.

I’ll give ya an example.

Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to go on a bucket list trip to Jordan…

AND co-caption a leadership training.

The challenge was – these events happened at the same time… but on completely opposite time zones.

Legit – OPP-O-SITE.

Of course, I was fully aware that I had given my word slash commitment to a 4-month leadership training as a co captain.

And I take that very seriously.

So, I decided to do both.

Yep, I flew across the world to Jordan…

AND then, I pulled 2 all-nighters in a row to keep my word and leadership commitment.

Now, I’ll be real with ya…

I had never pulled an all-nighter before in my life…

Not even college.

Your girl is a PLANNER. LOL

Now was it easy? No.

Was it fun? No.

Was it POSSIBLE?

Hell friggin’ yes.

That’s what I mean by these sorts of things being “simple… but not easy.”

The solution was simple – just stay up all night to do whatever it takes to get to experience a bucket list trip…

AND honor my commitment.

Yeah, it wasn’t easy.

But ya know what?

It was possible.

Not only was it possible – it was DOable.

And I did it.

Because it mattered to me.

I share this with you because…

If there are things you’re holding yourself back on…

Literally telling yourself you CAN’T do something… or have something… or BE something…

9 times out of 10, it’s BS.

The fact is, 100% is possible, 100% of the time.

When you get creative… when you really really want something and are 100% IN for committed action…

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.

And what you’ll realize is…

When you push yourself out of your comfort zone like this…

Your confidence soars because you’ve done something you never thought was possible.

The truth is…

Everyone is capable of wayyyyy more than they give themselves credit for.

I’m sure you’ve experienced this yourself without actually thinking about it.

Like, if you were on a big job or deadline, but your kid (or dog) got sick.

You made the changes to ensure your work got completed or was renegotiated AND you took care of your kid (or pet), right?

Or if something unexpected happened financially – like your car needed some unexpected (and maybe expensive) work…

You know, the one you need to go to work, make money, and cart your fam around in?

But you were a little strapped?

You figured it out.

You got creative.

You picked up a little extra work.

Or you asked for support.

Whatever it was, you came up with an out-of-the-box solution.

In my case, I used my TIME as my lever.

Of course, you know that getting enough sleep is absolutely critical to my overall health and wellbeing…

So I decided that for two days, I could be flexible.

Maybe even uncomfortable…

Because the big picture was more important to me.

AND, I consciously prepared for these back-to-back all-nighters.

I’ll give ya a quick rundown on what I used to help make these all-nighters bearable…

The first thing was mindset.

I decided – yes, decided – that 100% is possible, 100% of the time

I decided that I get to have both/and.

And I decided that it was going to turn out perfect.

And ya know what?

I created it for myself (and my students).

The second tool I leaned in on, hard, was supplementation.

I’m fully aware that sleep is absolutely critical to energy.

And that we get energy from having a happy, healthy microbiome.

So, I made sure I took 2 key supplements daily.

The first one is my Lifelong Vitality Pack.

It’s full of essential nutrients and antioxidants designed to help promote energy, health, and lifelong vitality. And it’s crucial for metabolic health.

The second supplement I took daily, and honestly, always take daily, is called Mito2Max.

It really helps with cellular energy production – AKA: helping your mitochondria thrive. Which means you’re generating energy at a cellular level vs short term, external sources, like caffeine and sugar.

If you’ve ever relied on those stimulants or an all-nighter or a lonnnnnng day, you know that the energy crash is REAL.

Combining these 2 supplements helped me feel more energized and ready to do what I needed to do.

Now, the third tool I used was energizing essential oils.

My 2 favs when I want a little pick me up are Peppermint and Wild Orange.

I keep it simple.

They both have naturally invigorating aromas – and stimulating properties.

And the ones I use are so pure that you can put them on your skin, inhale them, AND even ingest them.

You can’t do that with most essential oils on the market, so you really gotta be careful and choose a pure brand, like I do. Which is doTERRA.

Ok, so for my all-nights, I went the aromatic route.

Here’s the science behind why I did this…

When you inhale energizing aromas, the olfactory receptors inside your nose send signals to the areas of your brain responsible for alertness.

Also, breathing in invigorating scents – particularly citrus and Peppermint – can lead to cognitive stimulation.

AKA: brain processing power.

Which not only promotes being more alert and awake, but also focused.

What I did was put a drop or two of each oil into the palm of my hand…

Rubbed them together…

Then cupped them over my mouth and nose to inhale deeply for a few seconds.

By the way, to make it easy for you, I’ve put together a link where they’re all sitting there waiting for you.

Just hop on over to www.hayleyhobson.com/allnight – and you’ll find the complete “Up All Night” toolkit bundled for ya.

WITH my wholesale discount - the price I pay for my own oils.

So I wanna ask you – if you had been in my same situation…

Would you have chosen to do both?

Or would you have fallen into the trap of believing you had to choose one or the other?

Or using the infamous phrase that most people are trained to use, which is “I can’t.”

YES.  You CAN.

You just get to choose it.

AND now that you know having BOTH is possible…

The next time you’re faced with an either/or decision…

Are you going to DECIDE to believe something different?

And then act and BE different as a result?

That’s your contemplation for the day.

You’re welcome. LOL

Think about it… and then let me know.

Drop me a DM or a comment on social.

Have a great rest of your day… and I’ll see ya online.
