Whole You Wednesday - The Power of Support Systems

Do you have support systems in your life? How many people are part of your support system? Do you feel like you have people that will look out for you in all areas of your life? If you don’t then you need to start working on that. Support systems are crucial for us and we should have these support structures in ALL areas of our life.Support Systems Quite often we lean on one or two people when the reality is that we need people in all areas of our life. We actually need to be able to rely on people no matter what area of our life is being challenged. You know recently I had some really tough times at work, where people I had employed let me down big time. I felt like I had been taken for a ride and advantage of. I was hurt, angry, frustrated and totally stressed out. I knew I could rely on my husband as always, but I also found support in many other areas of my life during that testing period. Other members of my work team provided me with great support and I knew I could rely on them, my downline and team at doTERRA and even my Yoga and Spinning class. I was so stressed out that I decided to go to the gym and do a Yoga class and it was during that class that I realized, even these folks who I didn’t know extremely well, were there to support me. I felt so humbled and awesome. It was then that I realized how we have the opportunity to build support systems in ALL areas of our lives, in all the activities that we do. The important thing is that we also give to these support systems that we are building and not just take from them. So I challenge you to sit down and think about your support systems and which areas you are lacking in your life. Go out and start working on building those support systems which will help you the most when you’re in need. Think too of the areas you can help others make a positive impact in their life and how you can be their support system.
