how NOT to get down on your body

Body image is a HUGE deal in our culture. Victoria's Secrets models are gracing the cover of magazines and runways, barely clad, thin, toned, and gorgeous. The idea of what is beautiful, what is sexy, what is desirable gets reduced to one idea of what is HOT. And then everyone who doesn't look like that winds up feeling like they have fallen short. Real bodies come in different shapes and sizes. What you look like physically doesn't define who you are emotionally or spiritually. Your body is a vessel for your soul to experience life. Sizes 8, 12 and 14. Somehow our world has decided to define beauty by what we look like from the outside. But what about our feelings, our perceptions, our true connection, our inner beauty? If we allow our physical bodies to define our worth, we will suffocate our spirit. Our bodies will become a prisons and wastelands polluted with negative beliefs and thoughts. Not to mention, when you beat yourself up for the lovely body type you were given, you're simply abusing yourself. Worse than you'd ever treat another sista. Love your body.  It's the only one you've got. It is the house that protects you and guides you through life. Let it shine. I've given you a few uplifting thoughts on why you should love your body. I'd love to hear what you think? Have you been getting down on yourself or are you ready to shine your light? Please leave a comment in the box below.
