Have you ever had a day where you feel like everything under the sun is going wrong? Someone cut you off on your way to work and you almost had an accident. Then there was the traffic from hell that caused you to arrive much later than you anticipated to your appointment or to work. At lunch, the waiter took your salad order wrong, and now you're left with greens tossed in a dressing you despise. You and your spouse or partner get into an argument about the fact that the dogs were not walked all day and therefore took a poop in the house which left a sour taste in your mouth for the rest of the evening. No doubt about it: with everything that is going on a mile a minute all day long, it's quite easy to find things to get worked up about. It's much more difficult to choose to be happy, but when you do, your entire world transforms. Your outlook on life shifts from one of someone who is constantly pointing out what was left out, what is missing, and what is out of place, to one of someone who is always seeing the good in any situation. Our thoughts affect our emotions and our emotions affect our cells. When we have negative thoughts, we hold on to negativity at the cellular level which then affects our health. Isn't it easier to appreciate this wonderful gift of life you've been given? It takes a lot less effort than hanging onto all the anger, blame, disappointment, fear, rage, jealousy and insecurity, doesn't it?Remember this tomorrow morning when the traffic starts to build. It is so much easier to change your attitude and put a smile on your face :-)
